While we're not aiming for the Linux market yet it's interesting to see how Kiwix is behaving as a cross-platform launcher. Hopefully as time goes on (and Kiwix is updated) things will be a little smoother. :)

Hi. I tried your linux installer on Kubuntu 8.04 and had a problem with the CD path. A space shows up when the CD is mounted. Using an escape character before the space allows the program initially recognizes the location to the CD. However, it appears that the full path, complete with the escape character before the space, does not get passed on to the rest of the script. Please see the attached output from the CLI for your information. Cheers!

     Kiwix 0.5 - Linux installer

Please enter the path to your dvd [/media/cdrom] :
/media/OpenDisc\ TestDisc/
[: 34: TestDisc//xulrunner-linux/xulrunner: unexpected operator
Ok, found your dvd at /media/OpenDisc TestDisc/
Please select an option :
1 - Copy the whole dvd on your hard disk : about 700 Mo (then you don't need the dvd)
2 - Copy the minimum files needed : about 26 Mo (then you have to insert the dvd each time you start wikipedia)
Your choice :
1
cp: cannot stat `/media/OpenDisc': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `TestDisc//xulrunner-linux': No such file or directory
cp: cannot stat `/media/OpenDisc': No such file or directory

Although it would have been a good idea (especially for the sake of testing), we didn't release a MD5SUM with the iso.

Since we've already had a flood of feedback through the forums and email, we've identified the likely problems and are hard at work shaping the disc up as we speak.

Thanks to everybody who took the time to check the ISO and comment on how it worked for you. :)
