   Hi All,

   After wrestling with Sourceforge's upload server for several days, the OpenEducationDisc is now in Beta for a final release hopefully within the week. Hence the funny name on the link below. It is jammed full of new and updated programs and lots of corrections from the previous one. We need you help to test it, looking for broken links, bad spelling/grammar, suggestions for improvements/programs i really need to include. Take a look here:

   Unfortunately due to issues with the Kiwix interface we are sticking with kmeleon for this one. Hence some of the images are a little small but the rest should be fine. Keep your eyes out for potential sourceforge SVN development in the near future. Please reply to this thread with any feedback.

   Hi there,

   Congrats on getting an update ready. I'm putting a proposal together to try and get funding to have thousands printed for distribution with a magazine for teachers...

   Have started having a look - here's a minor bug in the text:
   On the main page "For more information on the CD read _this_" takes you to a new page. Where it looks like the heading to the 3rd par is stuck to the end of the 2nd par and lacks heading tags.
   Heading is "Open Source Software"

   Hi Donna,

   Thanks for the feedback. That will definitely be fixed in the next version. I'm currently working on getting distribution sorted out in my school and to all the schools in my borough. Have you checked out the Distribution page on the website? (http://www.theopendisc.com/education/?page_id=8) There may be some details on there that can help you 'sell' the disc, especially the article by J. Pfaffman. If I can help in any way please drop me a mail.

   If you want to access the bleeding edge openeducationdisc release we are working on setting up a SVN on sourceforge where you can download and make your own versions, plus help edit future releases. Keep your eyes on this space!

   Apologies for not yet having a final release. The disc is ready but I am wrestling with the sourceforge ftp. I have uploaded the final release 3 times and will try again tonight. Hopefully that will fix it.
