I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but, from time to time, as I'm browsing the website (both the Wordpress pages and the Forums), I'm getting Internal Server Errors.

Usually, refreshing the page once or twice will make it work; I could just be trying to open a page at the wrong time while someone is doing maintenance on something. Supposedly, the errors have been logged.

  2. It's the hosting company (powweb) imposed mysql database user limits, where the database user can only do 20 things at any one time. Whenever you see that error there's at least 20 other people using the site.

I didn't know that they'd set it so low (and won't raise the bar) when I set the forums to use the same database as the site, so I'll have to work out a way to get another database user going. I'm not that good with mysql unfortunately. :(

I hate to bother you with this again, but it seems like, instead of the server simply sending back an error, it will either not reply at all, or will be painfully slow. Is this a result of the same issue (note: this also seems to occur with images, which I wouldn't think would need database access, but I've never set up Wordpress)?

I'll also say this, although it could be completely irrelevant... many of the hosting providers that I've worked with (although I've never worked with the one you mentioned) require that they set up new database users, rather than give the customer any administrative privileges. Once again, that could be completely irrelevant...

  4. The painfully slow bit is fixed now (after filing a complaint mind you) but the database problem remains. I'll contact them again to see if they can up the limit, or failing that set a new database user up as you mentioned.

    Thanks again. :)
